Weight loss

I hate belly fat. Not too long ago, I had put on a lot of weight and I refused to admit it when my friends pointed it out. However a picture of me standing next to a lamp was enough to convince me. The light accentuated my silhouette in quite an embarrassing way. It gets worse when you are taking a piss and the light in the bathroom throws your fattened shadow on the wall. But then, I got injured and I was on medication for long which eventually caused loss of weight and muscle. Then came the rebuilding, and now after nearly 2 years I have shot up the scales again. I weigh at 165 pounds(75kg) which is quite high for my height of 5′8″. I have this motivation like never before to stay fit and athletic. I love playing soccer and I am pretty sure I am not going to be playing 2-3 years from now.

I have started to hit the gym, and I didn’t realize until now that doing the ellipticals is much more rewarding than biking or the treadmill. Ellipticals lay emphasis on the work done and reduce the strain on your joints. Works perfectly for me considering that I’ve had a knee surgery. I follow it up by pumping some iron. Well, it’s always nice to see definition to your muscles, it’s worth the effort. But beating belly fat is just close to impossible. So I hit google, mr.know-it-all and he suggests dailyplate.com. And they recommend me a 2500 calorie diet; I was like “really?”. I am pretty sure I haven’t been eating that much for most of the days. And I usually go easy on my fat consumption. All this down to inactivity and a poor daily schedule. Inactivity is just too bad friends, get some excercise. Also I feel a lot more calm and peaceful after a heavy work out.

Often when you are doing fitness training on a treadmill or bike or your favorite machine, there’s a good chance of getting bored which in addition to fatigue can force you to quit before you actually should/can. Sometimes good music with good rythm helps a lot to keep the momentum and motivation on. A good idea would be to create a playlist for your work out. I have mine sorted out, it’s mostly music from the FIFA games. The tempo and rythm keeps me up to the task. 2500 calories, man that’s a lot of food and no where close to being on a diet I thought. But 2500 calories, provided we work out. Simple facts. Well if you are ambitious about weight loss, take time to identify your favorite cardio routine. For some people it could be biking, for some treadmill and others the elliptical. I have tried all 3 and to me elliptical helps burn more for the same effort. I am not talking like an expert who has lost 10 pounds already..I hope! I am just talking about stuff that has helped me. I have no clue about diets though. I usually eat whatever I can get. I don’t overeat, I’ve always hated buffets(for not eating the money’s worth not for the menu) and I don’t adore cheese. So I am good I think.
